Who saw MHP this morning? Heartbreaking!

Elon James White tried to report on the experience of being tear gassed in neighborhoods and the terror of the people around him. He literally burst into tears and couldn't go on. As the show went on both Melissa and other panel members struggled not to cry as they talked about the fear people have felt, the trauma they, adults, children, old people, families have been through. I was crying like a baby before it was over, wanting to tell every one of them how so, so sorry I am for the lives they've had to lead.

Listening to residents "In the 60's they sent the National Guard to protect US. Now they send them to protect the cops." #Ferguson

I will broadcast from #Ferguson as long as I can if it's needed. These organizers are amazing & need to be heard. Justice needs to be served

thanks for the heads up on the interview . .

The thing is, this hurts EVERYONE. If we can't see one another as people and deserving of care and comfort and the ability to talk to one another, even at full volume and with a lot of anger, we have no choice but to subvert the rage into something harmful. It's PTSD 101, dammit.

I mean it. There are many of us, and though we might be down for now. I don't mean disrespect by using an iconic phrase from the African American community, but we shall overcome. All of us who care. We can be bent but we won't be broken. There are too many of us. I do believe that.

those who NEED it MOST, will either not see it, or be unmoved...

I don't know how to get through to that segment of our society. The older I get, the more painful is that reality..

I was horrified when she ran that video showing a cop ordering that scared little boy to get out of his mom's car at gunpoint, and then saying, "guns down", after the fact.

The Protests May Be Winding Down, But Ferguson's Fight Is Not Over

"I have a problem with the police chief saying that this department is not racist. If you have to declare you're not racist…" Ferguson resident Pamela Merri-Weather told VICE News, referring to the Ferguson police department.

"I watch it every day, I see it all the time," she added. "They do more traffic stops than they do walking the beat. They can pull you up for a traffic stop, but you need to be in the neighborhood with people, walking about. People are more afraid to drive down the street than to walk down the street."
