Holy Mackeral, what a way to wake up!

We live about 6 miles from the earthquake epicenter. Felt like a giant was shaking the bed for about 30 seconds.

KCBS is reporting at least 87 people treated for injuries at Queen of the Valley hospital, 3 in critical condition.

It certainly was a helluva way to be woken up..especially when you have a hangover. Memorable.

That must have started the adrenalin pumping.

I'm far enough away that it was just a rude wake up call.

Earthquakes can be...unsettling. They are something we have no control over and Mother Nature will do what she wants regardless of how we feel about it. I was a bit spooked for a few days after a small quake hit Las Vegas.

Yeah, that was the biggest shaker I've felt since the '89 Loma Prieta quake. Despite the shock. everything is ok here. Napa caught the brunt of it, and that's about 10 miles away. My mother-in-law and brothers-in-law live there and their houses are a mess, lots of broken glass, etc.

Some fairly serious damage downtown Napa; lots of gas leaks, and some serious fires at one of the trailer parks.

87 people treated at Queen of the Valley, mostly cuts from flying glass, etc., but three critical from falling masonry.

My dogs never uttered a peep through the whole thing (3:20 am). I jumped out of bed as soon as the shaking stopped and all they wanted was breakfast...

Electricity was out in St Helena when I went down earlier to check a client's house. Broken wine glass at another house. Mostly my clients are worried about their wine stored at a warehouse in American Canyon. No word from there yet.

My damaged consisted of a ruined irrigation valve. The cats sort of took it in stride... Or nap, as the case may be.

My three dogs didn't utter a peep during the whole thing. When I climbed out of bed (after the shaking subsided) all they were interested in was breakfast.

Glad you're ok.
