Darren Wilson defense fund

Any chance that after his criminal trial the remaining defense funds will be part of the settlement in the civil trial. It's not likely any money will be left over when the lawyers get done but it would be pleasantly ironic if all those goobers donating to Wilson saw their donations end up in Brown's family bank account.

... assets belonging to the defendant of the civil trial would be subject to garnishment? Not sure about assets BEFORE the verdict, though...

But I think it's all assets. That's why OJ Simpson had to give up his Heisman, etc.

Pretty much anyone in government is given legal representation. Civil case maybe too. Again, he was on duty. The county will pay fines and fees too most likely.

...after an indictment?

I'm not a legal expert, just trying to learn.

It would be easier to know some answers if he wasn't a government employee and especially on duty. We will find out though.

I imagine the officer will receive legal representation via the Police Union. So keep on donating you white racist klan members.
