(6,036 posts)If you revel in subjecting people to torture and death, ISIS is a paradise. Instead of pulling the wings off fly's and kicking puppies one can delight in crucifixions, beheading and a host of other delicacies not permitted anywhere else.

(269,045 posts)It's merely pointing out that outrage is misplaced and hypocritical since George Bush said he was on a crusade and members of his army used biblical quotes on their weapons.
Whe you illegally invade a country and use religion as cover expect a response.

Grow up!
They hate Americans and you know why. They are simply as evil as those who killed their relatives and destroyed their countries. Where do you think many of those refugees fled to? Do you know the chaos created by the West?
Look all human beings are capable of evil - expect an evil response to evil.

(27,670 posts)An army from the US partially comprised of RW christians embarked on a new Crusade, and killed a million or so Iraqis, probably mostly RW Muslims, for no reason whatsoever.
And destroyed the country in the process.
Kind of like how indigenous folks of the Americas got indiscriminately murdered by christian armies.
Religious wackos of every stripe have been torturing and killing people in new and improved ways, probably since the dawn of religion. Putting the heads of your enemies on poles, for all to see, is a time honored tradition in the history of violence.
I can definitely see mock crucifixion as a way to mock and intimidate christians.
Unjustified violence begets more violence. Imperialism causes violence.
The PNAC deliberately got the US involved in eternal war with Muslim nations. They hate the US for what our government did to Iraq. Hate.
Hate is what results when you invade someone's home and indiscriminately kill someone's babies, children, relatives, wives, husbands and friends out of greed.

This is not exactly what Mohamed had in mind (and confirmed by reading Islamic scholars) when I read the Koran some years ago to the same degree the Klan is contrary to Christian scripture. Ignorance among those who claim religious values may be bliss but it is also dangerous.

James Foley's prayers and the dark side of faith
Foley stood up to his captors and often asked the militants for simple things like bread for the other prisoners, he said.
He recalled his captors forcing prisoners to endure mock executions. Francois remembers seeing Foley, a Catholic, forced to pose against a wall as if he was being crucified.
