So, THAT'S why the poice didn't release any! Per "The Last Word" on MSNBC.
Lawrence showed a copy of a memo that says the report wasnt written on advise of his lawyer.

(12,723 posts)Never say anything to the police without your attorney's approval and that would include making an official report. If he tells the truth and it is bad for him he is fucked and if he lies on a police report he is fucked so the first rule of dealing with the police is say nothing until you talk to your attorney.
Funny how the cops know this but the general public does not.

(10,952 posts)the incident should be required to turn in a report that is a public record. It appears that no on the PD was compelled to write any type of official report.

(621 posts)put my foot down to insist on a fundamental principle: the act of consulting an attorney is not evidence of anything, nor should any inference be drawn from it, other than that one consulted an attorney. Thus, Wilson might have wondered whether writing an incident report might expose him to liability in a civil trial, been advised not to file by an attorney, without knowing or even thinking that he had broken any law.
I would, however, like to see under what statutory authority Ferguson Chief Jackson was allowed to place Wilson on 'paid' administrative leave. Seems to me Wilson has a right not to write the incident report but the Department has an equal right to insist that its employees adhere to policy, i.e., write incident reports, or face suspension or termination without pay.

(7,412 posts)The brought in St. Louis PD if I recall correctly, so the official investigation/report should be issued from that third party agency at some point.

(12,310 posts)then they have no choice but to rely on the eyewitnesses when making the report. Since Wilson won't tell his side of the story, then they are left with the 4 or 5 witnesses, all of whom say Wilson killed Brown when Brown had his hands up trying to surrender. Based on that, he should be charged and arrested. So your excuse is out the window.

(17,064 posts)Thats why they went on TV. So, if they weren't interested in witnesses, and Wilson was clamming up, just what the hell could be in a report?

(12,041 posts)Are they lying now when they say there is no shooting incident report or were they lying in the report on the so-called "robbery" when they referenced a shooting incident report?
