Could one of these British jihadists be James Foley’s executioner known as ‘John the Jailer’?

As a former hostage reveals he ‘roughly’ knows the identity of left-handed ‘John’ the executioner, we take a look at some of the British-born jihadists the UK government will no doubt be focusing on.

What we already know about ‘John the Jailer’, also known as the ‘Black Beatle’, is that he has a southern accent – possibly from London – and that he is seen using his left hand in the video. He also appears to be wearing Timberland boots.

The government has said there are around 500 British-born extremists in Syria and another 250 are believed to have returned to the UK already.

One of the below extremists – Nasser Muthanna – has already taken to Twitter to praise the killing of James Foley, saying it was ‘like something out of the dark ages’. He also mocked the US by saying the state ‘can’t even protect its own citizens’.
