are we going to see the nutcase right try to field a third-party candidate. Will Americans Elect come up with someone?
In any case, the two major party candidates are now clear. The 2012 Campaign is On! "May the odds be ever in your favor," Mr. President.

(146,331 posts)will still appear, by name, on the ballots and the ballots will be counted. I halfway expect a third party on the right. There won't be one on the left, though. A perfect combination, in my mind.

(20,889 posts)The loser tends to be the Republican front runner the next time around, but Santorum doesn't have the feel of a guy likely to move into the status of front runner. He had that Pat Buchanon feel to him. Who knows may be the allure of $$ will get him back this summer 3rd party. There's always Newt who loves to chase $$. Without Newt or Santorum I can't see how a third party attracts enough votes to matter. Unless they grab Palin. But she'd hurt her gravy train to much to run third party I imagine.
