The only difference between Zimmerman and Darren Wilson is that Wilson had an official police badge. Both gunned down unarmed black teenagers in cold blood. Both are relying on the "Scary Black Male" image for their defense. Both have racist right-wingers coming out of the woodwork to defend them. Even here on DU, pro-authority types are trying to shift the blame away from the heavy-handed police, instead arguing that we should "wait for more evidence". The only evidence that matters is that Michael Brown was unarmed and is dead, shot several times by a overzealous cop.
Shame on anyone who would defend such a barbaric action.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if a couple of his fellow cops took him down to the station and "made it look good" by beating the shit out of him to create the illusion that he was injured by Brown.
Nothing the Ferguson PD says or shows should ever be believed. If they say the sky is blue, we had all better double check.

(9,154 posts)Whether they did it as a matter of legal protection and creating a cover story, or because the Fraternal Order "takes care of its own", the possibility that he got beat up sometime after the shooting of Brown is reasonable.
Faux pas
(14,690 posts)the murderer pacing back and forth and around Mike Brown's body, can't see any injuries to his face.

(621 posts)obstruct justice on the part of the ruling class, not simply by the municipality of Ferguson but also by St. Louis County. If the corruption and obstruction get too deep, the state and Feds won't cure the problem b/c to do so would risk toppling the very foundations of the state. That's what makes what's going down in Ferguson such a potentially revolutionary situation (even though i think it is at most still only an insurrection): the ruling class, the ancien regime, has been shown to have lost its reason for being but, as yet, no new class conscious of its class status has arisen to take the former ruling class' place.
I'm still noodling this out, so please accept these comments as such.
