Never mind...my bad...it was IDF precision baby killer drones, artillery and combat jet fighters....and it was just some Palestinians, just add it to the IDF tally, the IDF Special Propaganda Unit is investigating, no worries.....go back to sleep and weep for the grasslands decimated by the Hamas rockets, they took the life of a precious Israeli flower bed said the IDF.
The humanity!
I see the monsters and I see the mothers and babies, and I see the difference, others choose to be blind.
How many mothers are burying their children in Israel? This mass murder must stop, it begins with being informed, the last thing the IDF wants is also the last thing Republicans want......an informed public.
An informed public in America would be outraged, keep them in the dark, keep them more concerned about mainly useless rockets landing in fields.

Israel steps up air strikes as Gaza buries dead
Grandfather buries teenage grandson
"Several thousand angry mourners joined the funeral procession for Deif's 27-year-old wife and seven-month-old son in the Jabaliya refugee camp, shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) and demanding revenge."
"The mourners, firing Kalashnikovs, buried Widad and her son Ali, who died alongside another woman and a teenager when a missile slammed into a six-storey building in Gaza City late on Tuesday.
It was the first deadly air strike August 10.
Their bodies were wrapped in green Hamas flags and they were carried to the cemetery with the bodies of two men killed in a strike on a motorcycle, both presumed Hamas militants.
Grief-stricken, Widad's father Mustafa Harb Asfura carried his tiny grandson into the mosque then to the cemetery, his body wrapped in a white sheet exposing his white face with an injury to the eye."

"No faith teaches people the massacre of innocents. No just God would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIS has no ideology that is of any value to any human being. Their ideology is bankrupt."
President Obama, today....replace ISIS with IDF...contrast, compare........ the killings of innocents by both with brutal force and brutal propaganda.
(Peaceful and not scary IDF 155mm artillery, code named "Human Shield Killer"
(Terrifying unguided rocket trails from Gaza City area searching for the broad side of a barn to hit - destroyed power plant in background using IDF "precision" artillery......oops, must have not seen it.....)
(Power plant destroyed by IDF - was electricity shielding Hamas?)

does the term antisemitism apply equally to both groups in your opinion?
ProdigalJunkMail
(12,017 posts)because they injected garbage about 'brown' people... when both groups are 'brown' people.
and no, antisemitism is applied almost exclusively to haters of Israelis because people don't understand the root of the word.

are you using the term Israeli euphemistically to mean Jews? I ask because because between 20 and 25% of Israeli's are not Jewish

It's a worthwhile topic, but the story you're writing about will be totally missed by those who will never read beyond your headline, and they will remain confident that their negative opinions on the people of Palestine is once again sustained by the 'news'.

(14 posts)Granted, Israel's reaction is very harsh. Yet your thread is one sided.
Hamas sends rockets on Israel, what is Israel supposed to do?
Waiting and hoping for the best did not work too well for the German Jews in 1933.
The solution should be diplomatic rather than military, true.
But the charter of Hamas calls for an end to the state of Israel. Makes diplomacy difficult.
Fred Sanders
(23,946 posts)missing the first 4 days of the ceasefire....obviously Likud does not want peace, they want war, which they can not say, of course, thus the massive propaganda blitz which now defends and includes killing babies and mothers.
ACTUAL killing of babies by the dozens, children by the hundreds, not a theoretical remote possibility which has happened 0 times in Israel.
Just the facts. Just do the math.
We breathlessly await your second post......
Jeevessie
(14 posts)You said you "breathlessly await(ed) (my) second post......"
That's pretty rich given that you didn't answer the question of my first post:
What should Israel do?
Imagine for one second Israel without Netanyahu. Take Isaac Herzog for example.
What do you think his options would be faced with rockets and invasive tunnels?
Yes, Netanyahu is heavy handed, yes, the deaths in Gaza are tragic.
My only point is that you should also feel empathy for the Israelis.
Hamas rockets do not make victims not by intent, just because the Iron Dome works.
Fred Sanders

(55,981 posts)For the purposes of this analogy Goliath is Israel. And let's say David throws a rock at Goliath. Here's where you ask, "What should Goliath do? David is throwing rocks." The answer isn't that Goliath should go and kill David's family.
Jeevessie
(14 posts)OK, so now launching rockets is just like throwing rocks?
Anyway, if you want to be literal with your analogy, David ended up killing Goliath with a rock.
Are you suggesting Goliath-Israel should wait till David-Hamas rockets are lethal enough?
Besides, do you realize what it is to live in a country where rocket alerts send you underground?
I repeat, Natanyahu's military choices are hamfisted and Gaza deaths are tragic.
But I sense a lack of empathy for Israeli civilians which I find surprising and sad.
And again, even with a peace inclined Isaac Herzog, what would his options be vs rockets?
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)weaponry while David being Hamas with some unguided rockets. Not at all saying that the death from the rockets should be trivialized but they hardly match the arms of Israel. As far as taking the story of David and Goliath literally, I am sorry but I don't take anything from the Bible literally. Most likely Goliath had a medical condition and was merely a visual threat more than a physical threat. And David killing Goliath with a single rock, possible but not very likely.
"But I sense a lack of empathy for Israeli civilians which I find surprising and sad. " Don't confuse calling out the military regime of Israel as indicating a "lack of empathy for Israeli civilians". Personally I have empathy for civilians on both sides.

(21,786 posts)and Hamas rockets from Gaza are almost always a response to Israel's actions in the West Bank. This most recent "war" was precipitated by Israeli violation of an existing truce and a "sweep" of the West Bank that saw a mass of arrests, including of people released under the terms of the prisoner exchange for Gilad Shalit. Given ample evidence of Israeli bad faith negotiations and provocation, what incentive is there to negotiate?
Jeevessie
(14 posts)Except that the West Bank is Fatah, and Gaza Hamas. Until recently, they disagreed.
You seem to assume Hamas is interested in negotiating with Israel.
Here is a show for young kids (5-14) on Hamas TV.
At 0:32, the statement is: "we will annihilate the Jews". "what incentive is there to negotiate?"
Spider Jerusalem
(21,786 posts)that the West Bank is also occupied Palestinian territory, which will form part of any future Palestinian state, and where Israel continues engaging in illegal expansion of illegal settlements along with targeted assassination of persons suspected of links with Hamas. If you're not ignorant of those facts, then you should be able to understand why it's frankly stupid to pretend that what happens in the West Bank is completely separate and unrelated to Hamas' actions in Gaza.
