Why do we believe that the police are in anyway capable of policing a protest against them?

Would we expect corporations to police protests against themselves fairly?

I think there needs to be a fundamental change about how to protect protesters from the people they are protesting, acknowledging when a conflict of interest exists and attempting to get outside parties to monitor the situation.

I am not sure why we think that there is any situation under which someone will allow a protest against them to look good or go well. I just think that there is way too much of a conflict of interest.

this is Murka. We DO expect the corporations to voluntarily police themselves, just as we expect the Supreme Court to recuse themselves appropriately. It's only the commoners you can't trust, who need outside enforcement. Who better to enforce than the enforcers?

The end draws nigh, m'dear. The end draws nigh.

One answer is "Who else is going to do it?" But that's not very satisfying.

and police are allowed to seriously injure and kill people without being held accountable no matter which department takes over, you're going to have the same results.

A "brotherhood" has no interest going against or upstaging their fellow brothers to appease the public.

They swore an oath to each other.
