defines the beginning time of the rally and the area that it will cover. Then they need an organizer or organizing group that will determine end of the rally activities or dismissal. I would suggest that there is still enough daylight after work to accomplish that. That will take away the power from agitators. But if it continues like it is now with everyone doing their own thing, chaos will continue. The rallies for Trayvon Martin worked because their was organizing. People came from across the country to well planned protest. That is why I am surprised that Rev. Al did not stay and assist when he was in Ferguson. Michael's memory at least deserves that. There is no leader in Ferguson.

(146,218 posts)I was hopeful that some of the religious groups in the city would provide that platform and also advocate non-violent protest, but I'm not seeing a lot of that at this point.

the cops see themselves as warriors against the community instead of people providing a service and protection for the community.

They don't need someone telling them what to do--they're doing it. It will be imperfect. It will be messy. But what they do is for them, the ones on the ground, to decide.
