Jake Tapper Goes Off on Police Reaction in Ferguson: ‘This Doesn’t Make Any Sense!’

Looks like even CNN is getting sick of this shit. Video at link.

Jake Tapper Goes Off on Police Reaction in Ferguson: ‘This Doesn’t Make Any Sense!’
by Matt Wilstein | 11:20 pm, August 18th, 2014 VIDEO

Just after 10 p.m. local time in Ferguson, Missouri Monday night, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked his cameraman to take a step back and zoom out so he could highlight what he clearly thought was the absurdity of the situation on the ground. With the National Guard and police sent in to disperse what appeared to be almost entirely peaceful protesters, an incensed Tapper told viewers what was really going on here:

Below are his full remarks:

“I want to show you this, okay? To give you an idea of what’s going on. The protesters have moved all the way down there… they’re all the way down there. Nobody is threatening anything. Nobody is doing anything. None of the stores here that I can see are being looted. There is no violence.

Now I want you to look at what is going on in Ferguson, Missouri, in downtown America, okay? These are armed police, with — not machine guns — semi-automatic rifles, with batons, with shields, many of them dressed for combat. Now why they’re doing this? I don’t know. Because there is no threat going on here. None that merits this. There is none, okay? Absolutely there have been looters, absolutely over the last nine days there’s been violence, but there is nothing going on on this street right now that merits this scene out of Bagram. Nothing.

So if people wonder why the people of Ferguson, Missouri are so upset, this is part of the reason. What is this? This doesn’t make any sense.”

is RESPONSIBLE for this outrage?

I feel like I'm watching a war zone. It is a disgrace.

We watched the same tactics during OWS.

This IS America. Like any oppressive nation, you'll be fine so long as stay quiet and go about your business, but they have amassed a huge ARMY which is NOT there to protect the people, it is there to OPPRESS the people, to keep them under control, to make sure they NEVER threaten even by telling the truth, the Rulers of this so-called democracy.

I'm glad the media is finally showing some resistance but it may be way too late.

when I saw this 'military unit' aim their weapons at unarmed, peaceful people. I did notice that a few of them kept their guns pointed slightly down, probably ashamed to be participating in such a display of utter moronity.

Ron Johnson is doing a good job, as best he can, but he may have been outranked by the National Guard, Ot , at least, it may feel that way.

Well, Jake Tapper has been pretty mild & CNN for years, but in the years when he wrote for Salon I followed his writing and he was pretty damn good. I hope he's waking up to what's what, and stays awake once he gets back to the Washington-New York bubble.

The police out there are drunk on their power! Retaliation on journalists shows that they don't even feel the need to hide anything; they feel all powerful. All that military shit to use against Americans sure boosts their invincibility complex. Totalitarianism and authoritarianism in full force.

They are covering the protests in the manner they typically do-which is to take a few incidents of civil disobedience, and call it violence. They will echo and reiterate the violence, while ignoring the fundamentals of the protest. They use the split screen tactic. This is how they can pretend to be reporting the concerns of the protestors in one screen, while showing images of violence and looting in the other. In the end the viewer, who doesn't understand media manipulation, will side with the police. It works every time. Before you give Jake Tapper the Nobel Peace Prize, this is the same man that went screaming foul because President Obama was not going to recognize Fox News as a legitimate news organization. He created an alliance with CNN, NBC and CBS to not cover the White House unless President Obama accepted Fox as a news organization.

Please, be reminded of this before you think the media is on our side:
