What a Getty Photographer Captured Before He Was Arrested in Ferguson

Rachel just showed an amazing image by this guy, can't find it on this site but these are close.

--
Getty Images photographer Scott Olson was arrested Monday evening during protests in Ferguson.

Reporters on the scene captured photos and videos of his arrest. An Instagram video appears to show Olson as police tie the photographer's hands behind his back.

"Media are required to be in a certain area," Olson comments. He goes on to identify himself as a photographer with Getty Images.

"We strongly object to his arrest and are committed to ensuring he is able to resume his important work of capturing some of the most iconic images of this news story," Getty Images VP Pancho Bernasconi said in a statement Monday night. He said Getty is "working to secure his release as soon as possible."

Getty managed to capture several pictures of Olson being arrested, and identified him in their captions. But Olson has been in Ferguson since early last week, and has taken some of the most memorable pictures of what has happened there since 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot by a police officer on August 9.

Not sure if this is the complete list, but here are the characters that DU3 seems to have issues with in image URLs:

The will all learn - they will have to stop pretending that there is no racism. The white media person being attacked are merely n-lovers to these racists.

Let me say something else that will annoy some folks - all these African-American mothers obsessed with the long fake nails, the three pounds of Asian hair and the latest fashion will have to wake the fuck up and teach their children about the society they live in.

They will have to do what we did - boycott all the fugging corporations and support their own and those who support them.

missed his media megaphone. The cop just didn't give a doodly-darn.

At the end of that video clip, Lemon points out that if the cops will behave that badly while being broadcast live on national news, you can just imagine how they act when they are not being watched and when their victims do not have such a large soapbox to speak from.

I know you meant when he is doing real points, but some people might not, so I am just giving you a heads-up there.

But, yes, he really made clear how racist and unreasonable these cops are being. They say, "You must stand there," and then when the reporters and protesters stand where they are told to, they are then told that if they stand there, they will be arrested--or teargassed, or shot.

It's as though these cops have gotten away with so much for so long that they simply cannot wrap their minds around the notion that things don't work quite the same way when the whole world is watching.

Mon Aug 18, 2014, 09:51 PM

having long fake nails, 3 pounds of Asian hair and the latest fashion has anything to do with what they are teaching their children? African American mothers know too well the dangers of living in our society and teach and warn their children of the dangers every day.

If you're implying that there are bad moms out there then you're right. But that has nothing to do with color or ethnicity. That's a color blind issue.

Isn't it nice to great catch a moment on camera of those you serve and protect with a good ole, "Get the fuck outta here"

and, the ever-popular...
"Gonna kick your fucking head in!"

The pity of it is that if you ARE a good officer, you work very hard to keep the peace. Every single one of them know it.

What makes you a dirty cop? I'll tell you, it's who leads you there. If anyone should be brought up on charges after the shooter criminal cop, it's his chief.
