DUers have you watched James Cameron's Titanic documentary

Last edited Tue Apr 10, 2012, 07:38 AM - Edit history (1)

Not only was it fabulous but his commentary at the end was unbelievable.
He said the Titanic was the metaphor for the planet - too big to fail with all the socio-economic and political problems facing humanity while the rich decide that any change in direction would not be tolerated.

He said that what we need to do is realize that the next Titanic is Climate Change and it would be the poor who suffer it most.

I think James Cameron is changing the story to fit the new audience...since Too big to fail was long long after the fim first came out.

I love celebrity spin...ridiculous on it's face.

- but I turned it off at the end when Cameron began his commentary as it wasn't what I tuned in to watch and I had other things to do. His commentary was a bit over-the-top and quite the stretch, IMO. The documentary itself was quite interesting, though.

It was smartly done, the whole thing.

There are moments when he gets too defensive about the film, even with his own experts, but he does seem to be sincere in his desire to create knowledge about the sinking.

I thought it was well done.
