Anyone watching Hardball?
Kornaki and guests are saying that late today Chief Jackson said that although Darren Wilson initially stopped the boys for jaywalking, he then saw the cigars in their hands and connected them to the robbery.
Also claiming that journalists in Ferguson were dumbfounded when the robbery report was released and Jackson claimed they had requested it - none of them even knew about the robbery. What they had requested was the incident report OF THE SHOOTING, which has not been released.
More lies.

(5,954 posts)and A) There wouldn't have been time to get the report through the system in that short a time, and B) I don't think they put out an APB on Brown or anything.
If Jackass (er...Jackson) is now claiming that Wilson knew about the convenience store incident, and was stopping them in relation to it (even if the original reason was j-walking) he'll have to back it up with a timeline. ie-did the dispatcher, or patrol car computer system actually SEND OUT information on the store incident, and if so, when.
If this idiot can't do that, and is just blowing smoke out of his ass, he should be fired immediately.

(36,437 posts)That's in the incident report released today. Yes, that seems to have gone out within 15 minutes of the indicent at the store. Perhaps less. The first officer was on scene in 3 minutes, drove about half a mile and back, talked to the clerk, then put out the call with the description.
Again, that's what's in the report. Who knows what they really did.
Two cruisers were canvassing the area less than a quarter mile from the incident.

(7,784 posts)got a lot of criticism for releasing the robbery report and then saying it was unrelated to the shooting. So they suspect he was trying to retrofit a connection. He's a very bad liar and is obviously making it up as he goes along.

(36,437 posts)The initial dispatch mentioning cigars went out at 11:52.
Wilson shot and killed Brown at around 12:02 - 12:04.

(7,784 posts)knew nothing about it because he was on 'a sick call'. But I expect him to say the opposite tomorrow.
alcibiades_mystery
(36,437 posts)There's no way they can claim he heard the second call and then only "connected the dots" when he saw the cigars as the second call was a pretty complete description of brown's clothing

(36,437 posts)I've been predicting something like this for most of the afternoon (i.e., that they'll claim he stopped them for blocking traffic, but during their interaction, put them on the alleged robbery).
Needless to say, predicting that makes me a very bad person or something.

(53,339 posts)But that info could only have come from the shooter cop, whom the Chief said he did not interview.
So it would have to be second-hand info from the county PD investigators who did interview the cop.
But the Chief also said he would not relate anything he heard second-hand about the investigation.
The Chief appears to be full of contradictions.

what is it going to take for this guy to get fired, and someone brought in to clean this mess up?

(46,737 posts)The police are very sly and will only give you what they think you're asking for. They will interpret your request in the narrowest of ways. It means that the person requesting the public records has to be up on the police's filing system.

the police chief now says the officer did not know the victim was the robbery suspect...
