Fox News Just LED With The Brown Convenience Store Tape: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

For an entire week FOX NEWS buried the Michael Brown/ Ferguson protests story in a slot about 20 minutes into the show, and led with Obama's alleged botching of the Iraq situation. Until tonight, when the Ferguson police released the convenience store tape showing Michael Brown shoving the store manager. Fox News suddenly decided this was a LEAD story, and relegated Obama's botching of the middle east to the 20 minute back page. Mission Accomplished, guys.

And thus, the smoke-blowing begins. Here we go again. Standard (racist) conservative flack procedure.

Step 1: A cop, rent-a-cop, or wannabe cop (ie-Zimmerman) shoots a black teen to death because he ASSUMES he must be a criminal based on his looks.

Step 2: Start a background information smear campaign of the victim, proving that he WAS a criminal, and therefore the shooting was justified (despite the fact that the guy who shot him had no way of knowing any of it).

Step 3: The waters are muddied enough for a skitterish, spineless jury to acquit the executioner because they'd rather ere on the side of a few innocent black teens on the sidewalk than risk having these 'inherent criminals' come through their bedroom window some night.

We just finished going through this with Treyvon Martin. He was profiled as a criminal by Zimmerman because of the way he looked. Zimmerman followed him and confronted him (something he never would have dared to do if not for the false confidence a gun stuffed down the back of his pants had given him), ended up on the bottom side of the confrontation HE started, and shot Martin to death. The police arrived, took his word for the story he told, and said 'forget about it.' They actually went so far as to test Martin for the presence of drugs, but not Zimmerman.

Then came the FLACK.

-He was a thug with a history of criminal activity. (He wasn't)
-He was suspended from school. (For being late once, and for scribbling a naughty word on a locker)
-He must have been a drug addict because he had liver damage, according to the pathologists report (the report said nothing of the kind. It said his liver was normal.)
-He was buying the ingredients to make LEAN. (Uh..yeah, skittles and ice tea are "two of the main ingredients of lean" the third one being PRESCRIPTION COUGH SYRUP which he didn't have. So, if you can make a bomb out of an alarm clock, a paper bag, and three sticks of dynamite, I guess if you've got a paper bag and an alarm clock, you've got "two of the three main ingredients needed to make a bomb" and you must be a terrorist.)

1. I know what you mean. I think there is enough eyewitness accounts to convince most of a jury

the that policeman went way to far. But, it will take a good prosecution to convince all jurors.

Today's revelation does make it more difficult to say the policeman overreacted during the initial moments. But, there is nothing to justify shooting Michael Brown after he gave up, was down. I doubt they can even justify the first shot.

Personally, I believe the policeman had to know he was a suspect (a "suspect" for a minor crime) from everything that was broadcast on the radio. But, blasting away is beyond anything even a callous right winger can justify.

As to Trayvon. Zimmerman started the mess when he grabbed his gun while mad at his wife and stalked the unarmed kid, and damn sure wasn't having his head bashed in when he shot Martin.
