Democratic NY governor candidate arrested for ‘menacing’ police officers with umbrella

____ A long-shot candidate who hopes to be the Democratic nominee for New York’s gubernatorial race was arrested when he attempted to film police officers in a subway station as they detained an African-American subway passenger.

Capital New York reported that comedian and activist Randy Credico was passing through New York City’s Van Cortlandt subway station when he saw a group of men in plain clothes appearing to harass an “older black man.”

Credico took out his phone and began to film the men, who turned out to be NYPD officers assigned to the transit system.

Calling from a holding cell in the Bronx, Credico told radio host Fred Dicker, “The guy got right into my face, and says, ‘You’ve got to move back.’ The next thing you know I got arrested.”

____ An N.Y.P.D. spokeswoman confirmed the arrest, and said Credico was “yelling and cursing” at the officers. When they asked him to back away and stop, the spokeswoman said, Credico began “menacing the officers with an umbrella he was carrying.”

Credico was charged with menacing a police officer, obstructing government administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The spokeswoman said there was also an outstanding warrant, which Credico told Dicker was actually for an unrelated man named “Gredico.” Credico is currently awaiting arraignment in the Bronx.

“This is something out of a Dostoevsky book,” he said.

Status Cuomo is afraid to debate her so he's hiding out in Israel or someplace.... pretending to have a foreign policy.

Meantime... I'm waiting for Credico to drop... as he said he would.

All that said... any action that hi-lights abuse of power by NYC gov't agencies.... INCLUDING NYPD ... is a positive contribution.
