Gene Simmons Tells Depressed People: 'F**k You, Kill Yourself'

https://tv.yahoo.com/news/gene-simmons-tells-depressed-people-f-k-kill-154600164.html

Gene Simmons is not making many friends this week. First he went after American immigrants who don't speak "goddamn English," and now the KISS rocker has some beyond strong opinions about those struggling with depression.

"Drug addicts and alcoholics are always, 'The world is a harsh place.' My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. I don't want to hear f**k all about "the world as a harsh place." She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life," the 64-year-old told SongFacts.com. "And for a putz, 20-year-old kid to say, 'I'm depressed, I live in Seattle.' F**k you, then kill yourself."

Unfortunately, he didn't stop there. "I never understand, because I always call them on their bluff. I'm the guy who says 'Jump!' when there's a guy on top of a building who says, 'That's it, I can't take it anymore, I'm going to jump,'" Simmons continued. "Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut the f**k up, have some dignity and jump! You've got the crowd."...

Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx, 55, commented on the shocking quotes during his radio show Sixx Sense, saying, "I like Gene. But in this situation, I don't like Gene. I don't like Gene's words. There is a 20-year-old kid out there who is a KISS fan and reads this and goes, 'You know what? He's right. I should just kill myself.'"

I think I know where Gene can stick that legendary tongue of his.

edit: There is a 20-year-old kid out there who is a KISS fan? Srsly?

KISS has some good songs. Their image and showmanship were their big selling points, but some of their songs are decent, hooky hard rock. I can understand why some people love them. Detroit Rock City is my favorite.

Picture KISS being covered by 60+ year olds in greasepaint who cannot keep up or sing like KISS used to, missing notes all over the place and straining to even get the verses right. Bands that don't know when to pack it in are the ultimate worst thing to watch.

His mother being in a concentration camp has nothing to do with a 20 year-old kid who is depressed. One is a war crime the other is a medical condition. Sure we have empathy for those who ended up in a concentration camp, but that doesn't mean we can't have empathy for people with other problems. It is complete and utter bullshit.

I hope other artists come out and condemn what Simmons said. Most of his diehard fans won't give a flying shit about what he says, the obedient little jackasses. They are too busy kissing his ass.

and one last thing:

FUCK YOU GENE SIMMONS!

Ps-I'm posting this one Facebook and Twitter.

Edit: Here is what I wrong after thinking about it

Mr. Simmons, I have to admit that I was going to come here to tell you to fuck off, but I've had second thoughts about that. Your apology is not accepted on behalf of those who deal with mental health issues everyday. I have dealt my entire adult life with depression (well over 25 years). I am on 5-6 different medications to keep me stable. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford them like I can. If we treated mental health issues as an illness instead of a joke, our society would be much better off and we would have less people in prisons, jails, hospitals, and on government assistance. The sad fact is we don't. I seriously urge you to go volunteer for a day or a week at a mental health facility or jail and talk to people who are dealing with mental health issues. I think you will be surprised at what you find. Finally, I want to say that I object to the way you brought up your mother being in a concentration camp and the comparison to someone who is suicidal. It seems as though you treat one as serious and the other as a joke. This shows me you truly have no empathy for others.
