Why do Repugs claim that President Obama should have kept US troops in Iraq? Because ...

if he had, then ISIS could be killing AMERICAN troops; and that would allow some dipshit like Darrell Issa or that Draco Malfoy-looking mother-fucker from South Carolina to investigate and fundraise and shit!
I truly despise the transparent gaggle of rabid shitweasels also known as the "Republican Party".

Correct, and when will we hear a Repug admit to that undeniable truth? 11 Bravo Aug 2014 #2

The Obama administration tried to extend the date, but the Iraqis would not agree to hold our mercenaries harmless if they committed crimes (including rape and murder). So, no extension. But, Bush is responsible for the withdrawal date.

Obama had ended the war in Iraq. I have been posting that same explanation for years, because my view of reality does not change, depending on whether the facts favor Democrats or Republicans.

With that particular set of facts, DU used to hate them, but now love them.

When trouble blew up, we'd be escalating our presence and operations on the ground--Obama certainly knew this, and even then he wasn't opposed to keeping a residual force there. There's no way a few thousand kids from Nebraska or Georgia are seriously going to stabilize a politically divided/doomed country or make its government run properly--we can't really do it now in Afghanistan, either. Kerry is desperately trying to keep the Afghan election process from shitting the bed. At any rate, that's a job for diplomats, in that massive embassy. ISIS got a foothold in Iraq because Maliki pushed Sunnis too far and the ISIS leaders saw ripe (disgruntled) fruit for the picking.

Meaning that we left behind many tons of US weaponry that ISIS probably bought from the corrupt Iraqi troops. We have no control over the guns we left behind and now those guns are being used by the bad guys.

Funny how that happens, eh? Coinky-dink, or planned? I report, you decide.
