(Future Meet the Press host) Chuck Todd: It's Not Media's Job To Correct GOP's Obamacare Falsehoods

This is from September 2013 but still relevant:

During a segment on "Morning Joe," former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) speculated that most opponents of the Affordable Care Act have been fed erroneous information about the law. Todd said that Republicans "have successfully messaged against it" but he disagrees with those who argue that the media should educate the public on the law. According to Todd, that's President Barack Obama's job.

"But more importantly, it would be stuff that Republicans have successfully messaged against it," Todd told Rendell. "They don't repeat the other stuff because they haven't even heard the Democratic message. What I always love is people say, 'Well, it's you folks' fault in the media.' No, it's the President of the United States' fault for not selling it."

Am I remembering correctly that you DID challenge those you interviewed on their answers to your inquiries if you felt they were hiding something or in error? Maybe I was wrong, but I thought that was one of your main duties...digging out the facts.

I sure don't remember coming away from the news with the feeling I just saw a major cover-up or that I had been lied to like I do these days.

But then, I was a lot younger then and SO naive.

Then asking hard questions became "disrespectful" or something.

...Obama not only sold ACA, he got it passed, and its working better than expected. Its the sheep like Todd who keep repeating the republican lies about it, hoping something will stick....somehow. Why they would want someone so disingenuous and partisan to fill the seat shows their desperation. I always turn Todd off when he comes on. I can't stand to even listen to his crap, and I don't think he even believes half of it himself. Maybe it's because he doesn't "sell it".

Something like 57% of Kentuckians have a negative view of Obamacare, 22% have a negative view of Kynect, the State run exchange. Blew my fucking mind on many levels, the Repuke lies work, how ignorant people are, how people willingly ignore what is provided by the State is often only possible due to the Feds.

As that famous sage Homer Simpson observed, "You can use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!" If the teevee starts trafficking in verifiable facts and objective truths, where are all those millionaires going to wind up when their phoney baloney jobs go away?

God, you people are just soooo insensitive! You don't give a rip about the prospect of Chuck Todd or David Gregory being consigned to homelessness (or living in something less than a mansion, as if there's a difference) because they don't have any marketable skills.
