These are extraordinarily cruel men who hunt down people they consider enemies (which is EVERYONE who does not accept their extreme ideology) and shoot them in cold blood. With literally religious glee.

They are gaining territory, weapons, and converts (whether volunteers or not) at a terrifying pace. They want to purify Iraq and Syria, and a lot more.

Beyond that...they have control of al-Aqsa as a primary goal - do you know what THAT means?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Aqsa_Mosque#Religious_significance_in_Islam

War with Israel.

Fuck fuck FUCK!!!

There is no appeasement of these people. There is nothing in this video which could cause a sane person to say, "If we just sit down with these gentlemen over a cup of tea and light refreshments, perhaps we can work out a suitable arrangement that satisfies the majority of each other's needs".

Whatever brought us to this point in history is irrelevant. Yes, Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Wolfie, the whole fukkin' PNAC philosophy and implementation... talk about it all you want, the current situation of a bloodthirsty genocidal group taking control of a major and powerful part of the world has to be dealt with. The immediate safety of the Kurdish people, and other ethnic and religious minorities, must be dealt with now.

Fuck.

We predicted exactly this back at the onset of Desert Storm and were ignored.

Fuck this.

Fuck Israel. They can deal with what's coming.

They had a multitude of chances to make peace. They didn't want it. I was even pro-Israel till I visited Gaza. That was an eye opener. Instead Israel created and are creating a blowback of biblical proportions.

Your "Fuck Israel" attitude about this, if contagious, could lead to a nuclear holocaust.

Fuck that.

It's the only way to be sure. I'm sure we'll be greeted as liberators and it'll pay for itself. If we don't, mushroom clouds.

These are the most evil, bloodthirsty group of people on this planet.

There is no mercy from these people. However they got that way is irrelevant.

They will not take any overture of peace. They will spread like a cancer, mowing down the most merciful, most innocent people, in their relentless march towards their often expressed goal of world domination.

But we can do nothing because Bush was a dipshit. Millions of people may die, many millions more than the few thousand we would have to bomb to at least slow this down and give people time to either stand up or escape. But that's ok as long as we can say "Hey we did not bomb anyone!"

then you're delusional. If the Iraqi's or Kurds can't stand up to them, what makes you think that us doing the fighting for them is going to produce a long term solution? How long will we be there? How much will it cost? I thought the Iraqi Army could fight? Wasn't that what we were told? That once they stood up, we would stand down? Just wtf were we doing there for 10 years if 50,000 Iraqis melt away in the face of a few hundred ISIS fighters? Are we going to make them fight? The Iraqi's simply don't have the will to fight these evil fuckers.

No, there is no long term solution.

But entire populations are dying. If all we can do is slow them down long enough for people to flee, it is something.

But as it stands - yes, attacking is going to help their recruiting. But sitting back is not going to stop them from wanting and violently seeking al-Aqsa and ultimately global Islamic rule.

Let me ask - if we should not bomb them in the current situation, is there ANY situation where it would be called for?

And you admit there is no long term solution yet bombing them will solve what exactly?

Global Islamic rule? Do you really believe that?

I'm fine with bombing to support the Yazidi and the humanitarian air drops but the air strikes we are carrying out now are near Irbil to help the Kurds.

getting involved again means. Anything we do is the equivalent of sticking our hand in a blender, switching it on and expecting to pull an intact hand out.

What is an acceptable body count?

If they attack Israel (which they may be just batshit crazy enough to try) - do we intervene to try to keep that from going nuclear, or just say "fuck it, your mess"?

One popular idea is to let Iran handle it. Is that going to make the world a more peaceful place?

Every answer, do nothing, military aid, bombing and surveillance operations... it all ends in nuclear conflict. I am now convinced that the world is hopelessly screwed and we might as well party the fuck out because it is all over in 20 years, max.

End game is what it will be regardless of what we do. Actually 40 years for climate change. 15 years if you just consider the world wars.

US will be to wrapped up committing seppuku by allowing the Teabaggers to freeze govt in it's tracks to do anything except make war.
There are several countries that will be fairly stable for a while.

More evidence that their filmmaking production is coming from rich sources. I wonder where their studios are.

edit: The ISIS mosque pardon scene of the mujahideen is particularly chilling.

uninformed about fellow human beings' problems. There's no excuse now that the world is wired.

If people turn a blind eye to this, they hurt themselves, families and fellow humans. This stuff just doesn't go away by being ignored. It's weak to hope it will.
