France: Israel rights don't justify 'carnage' - thank you Francois Hollande

http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/08/04/4270879/france-gaza-war-may-require-imposed.html
<snip>
Israel's right to security does not justify the "massacre" of civilians, France's foreign minister said Monday in unusually harsh language against a close ally. The French president said Gaza was among the wars that called into question any ability to remain neutral.

"How many more deaths must there be to stop what must be called the carnage in Gaza? The tradition of friendship between France and Israel is old and Israel's right to security is total, but this right does not justify the killing of children and the massacre of civilians," Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said.

The Gaza war, in its fourth week, has killed more than 1,800 Palestinians and more than 60 Israelis.

Fabius said a cease-fire, followed by a two-state solution, is needed and "should be imposed by the international community because, despite numerous attempts, the two sides have shown themselves to be incapable of concluding negotiations."

In a speech commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, French President Francois Hollande said wars raging near Europe's borders called neutrality into question. In a grim litany of violence, he cited Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and, finally, Gaza.

"How can we remain neutral, when in Gaza a deadly conflict endures for nearly a month?" Hollande said. "There is an obligation to act."

There is an obligation to at. Stop the fucking carnage of the Palestinian people NOW!

I am glad to hear it but what have foreign ministers & leaders, all the ruling assholes of the world, been waiting on?

After four innocent children were targeted and gunned down on that beach, almost three weeks ago, it became clear what the intent of this Israeli offensive was and then, once their forces barreled on into Gaza, that murderous intent has only become more and more obvious.

The absolute brutality that the world has witnessed throughout this past month, this bloody incursion waged by a supposed democracy on the people it has occupied for generations, is indefensible.

Inhumane.

Cmpletely agree. The inhumanity alone deserves world wide condemnation.

But even more than that, Israel's agenda to completely remove the palestinian population permanently from "The Strip" (Gaza) so that Gaza can finally be developed into another "Tel Aviv" strictly for Israeli citizens. The wider agenda is of course so that all of the territories are once and for all under Israeli rule, occupied by israeli citizens.

That's the agenda, and made crystal clear not only by these actions this past month, this past decade, this past 60+ years, but spelled out in a proposal crafted by members of the Knesset in an outlined memorandum as the "Gaza solution" posted on facebook in Hebrew.

In case you haven't seen it yet, someone posted the english version here.

It no more represents the view of the Israeli Knesset than an op-ed written by Ahmed Tibi.

They are all late - only the Latin Americans spoke out then Gordon Brown.
Still Hollande's statement was stronger than most of the on the one hand and on the other BS that has been spewed even in my region.

7. Hollande expresses solidarity with Israel after rocket attacks

تصغير الخطتكبير الخط
PARIS, July 9 (KUNA) -- In a departure for his usual and relatively-balanced policy on the Middle East conflict, French President Francois Hollande on Wednesday issued a strong message of support for Israel which he said should take all measures to protect its population faced with rocket attacks from the Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
The message was delivered in a telephone conversation Hollande had Wednesday evening with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Hollande's office indicated in a statement.
Hollande expressed to Netanyahu "the solidarity of France in the face of rocket fire coming from Gaza." The rockets fired by Hamas and associated Palestinian groups have killed no civilians and caused only minimal damage but the fear factor of these attacks has had a strong impact on the Israeli population.
Hollande recalled to Netanyahu that "France firmly condemns these aggressions," but the French leader made no mention of the Israeli attacks against targets in Gaza, where dozens of civilians, including women and children have been killed in the past two days.
"It is up to the Israeli government to take all measures to protect its population in the face of these threats (of rockets)," Hollande told the Israeli leader.

Approximately 10 days later, massive riots consisting mainly of North African immigrant Muslims ransacked city streets, burned cars, destroyed Jewish shops, and attacked synagogues, violating demonstration bans. France's Muslim population is on a hair trigger.
