Market Basket may replace some workers

The management of Demoulas Market Basket, Tewksbury, Mass., said Wednesday any associates that fail to return to work by Monday could be replaced.

“We understand that some associates may choose not to return,” Felicia Thornton and James Gooch, the company’s co-CEOs, said in a joint statement. “Consequently we will begin advertising for employment opportunities.”

The statement follows weeks of in-store walkouts and parking-lot demonstrations by employees who want to see Arthur T. Demoulas return as president, a job from which he was fired by other factions of the Demoulas family in mid-June.

time jobs. It's tough.. but, if they're shut out of their jobs may they get better ones elsewhere.

that unemployed people can get jobs elsewhere. I know that, when you NEED a job, everything starts looking good.

Store Directors may get jammed up by their accountability for "production numbers". AFIK, store employees have been clocking in as scheduled right along. I'm not sure about the distribution centers.

Customers are in charge now. We customer know that our former affordable food deal is gone unless former management comes back. Boycotting is our only chance to save our food budgets.
