The management of Demoulas Market Basket, Tewksbury, Mass., said Wednesday any associates that fail to return to work by Monday could be replaced.
We understand that some associates may choose not to return, Felicia Thornton and James Gooch, the companys co-CEOs, said in a joint statement. Consequently we will begin advertising for employment opportunities.
The statement follows weeks of in-store walkouts and parking-lot demonstrations by employees who want to see Arthur T. Demoulas return as president, a job from which he was fired by other factions of the Demoulas family in mid-June.
