Tortise tortured on video, 2 teens arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The teenage girls accused of torturing a state-protected tortoise were arrested Friday, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.

FWC investigated the incident after a video of two teens torturing a helpless gogher turtle went viral. A public outcry followed.

18-year-old Jennifer Emoke Greene and a 15-year-old juvenile, both from Orange Park, are accused of being the teens in that video.

They were arrested on charges of cruelty to animals, a third degree felony, and taking, harassing, harming or killing a gopher tortoise, a second degree misdemeanor, according to FWC.

they throw the book at them. I'm also tired of the bullshit from some that they are too young to understand what they were doing. Fuck that !

Cutting off chicken and turkey's beaks and squishing many into tiny crates. They break their beaks so that when they are stress they can't peck at themselves or each other. Squishing mother pigs into crates so tiny they literally cannot turn around and they can't even lick their babies while they feed and the babies get taken away from them quickly. Etc. Etc Etc.

11. I don't agree FFP precludes prosecution for animal cruelty.

Slave breeding in the South for profit was more systematic than what the man in Cleveland did.

It didn't mean what he did was less horrible. Or that he shouldn't have been prosecuted for not running a larger or a profitable operation in that house.

Just wondering how far we are going to go with that logic. A narrow point I'm making here, I know.

... but they didn't show all of the video. What the hell's is up with teenage girls these days? When I was a kid, let's see, I was in the reading club at the library, at the local pool swimming and getting a tan while teeny-bop music played on the intercom, babysitting, working (once I became 16), 4H, hayrides in the moonlight, practicing for cheerleader tryouts, going to movies & making out, slumber parties, and my favorite: roller skating!

This makes me so sad. America is sick.

These 2 girls deserve everything the law can throw at them.
This is how serial killers usually get their start, torturing and killing animals.
