****WCGreen Update --Saturday August 2, 2014****

From his wife:

Another Christopher Green update:

On Tuesday I received a call from Chris and he asked, " How does my voice sound?" Before, he was speaking on the exhaled breath. He is now on a portable respirator and can speak anytime! He has also sang! (He has his guitar) Last night he was transfered to J55, an ICU, for evaluation. He was moved to the J building because that is where the lung transplant team is most of the time. Ironically, it is where he was for about a month and a half after his transplant. Then, he will probably be transfering to a step-down unit there on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, he had a bad stomach ache last night and still does today. I'm going to see him very soon and will say hello for all of you!

I want to also thank everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts. This has been a week of miracles!

Another Christopher Green addendum:

He has been eating!* Also, the doctors actually told him that in the future, he very well could be going home! What did I tell you? A week of miracles!

First, to a full recovery for WCGreen!

Second, My mother-in-law just underwent a double transplant on July 4. She has a new kidney and liver.

Today, she was moved off the ICU unit and hopefully on Monday she will be moved out of this hospital to a rehabilitation hospital.

Transplant recovery is a long arduous process, but transplants save so many lives!

I wish her a long and healthy life!

I only wish that WCGreen's course had been as smooth as your mother-in-law's has been.

Indeed, transplants save so many lives!

She was in a coma for eleven days starting two days prior to the surgery.

She was probably 48 hours away from death when the team notified us a liver was available.

She went through a second surgery this week to remove a hematoma on her transplanted kidney.

She has been to the rehab hospital once already, and had to be sent back due to complications.

It's a rough road, and there will always be setbacks along the way. We've girded ourselves to that fact and are prepared for more setbacks to come.

Less restrictive than honey thickness. Could mean an additional arrow pointing in the direction of a discharge to home. I so hope he makes it. So good of you to keep us posted.

Thank you, CaliforniaPeggy. All the best to you. And good luck with your shoulder!
