You cannot kill hatred with violence and bombs.

You can only create more hatred and more violence. Violence begets violence.

The hatred that is being created at this moment in Gaza and the Middle East, and the rest of the world is something America will pay a huge price for. After all, it is America that has armed and it is America that defends the attacks and deaths on innocent children. There are no legitimate excuses.

It is America that will suffer for these deeds, just as we did on September 11th, 2001.

It was a group of Saudis that got pissed their king let us stage our military on some holy land so we could get Iraq out of Kuwait.

I don't think it was that we help arm the only democracy in the Middle East who's under constant threat of annihilation.

Or something

Given the opportunity, the Palestinians have always chosen war over peace. First the PLO and now Hamas. They are cursed by their inability to cast off their leaders.

They hadn't yet made the transition to using suicide bombers to attack buses and restaurants. Which shows you how malignant Palestenian society is - organizations dedicated to education and charitable works end up sponsoring suicide bombers.

when civilized peace is the goal. Violence worked pretty damn well for Temujin, Alexander the Great, the rise of Islam, the U.S. during WWII, the North in the U.S. Civil War and the Reconstruction Era. It's not a mere matter of using just violence, but using it effectively and to the complete and utter destruction of your enemy so they are left dependent on your mercy and compassion, or left completely destroyed and nothing more than a mere note in the history books.

So you can kill hatred with violence and bombs, you just can't be soft and civilized about it, is all. Saddam kept Iraq under key with his brutal use of violence, it was only after he fell out of power that it went to pot. A sad commentary on the evil predisposition of so many human beings.

Otherwise the warmongers will continue to do what they do best.

And FWIW the focus on Gaza (and Ukraine) has taken our eye off other huge crimes in Syria, Iraq and Libya.

They're all part of the same madness: giving masses of weapons to the wrong people.

They might be surprised to find that "overwhelming force" is one way to win a war but not a way to win the peace.
