Israeli three “pillars” of apartheid comparable to practices in South Africa:

The first pillar “derives from Israeli laws and policies that establish Jewish identity for purposes of law and afford a preferential legal status and material benefits to Jews over non-Jews”.

The second pillar is reflected in “Israel’s ‘grand’ policy to fragment the OPT [and] ensure that Palestinians remain confined to the reserves designated for them while Israeli Jews are prohibited from entering those reserves but enjoy freedom of movement throughout the rest of the Palestinian territory. This policy is evidenced by Israel’s extensive appropriation of Palestinian land, which continues to shrink the territorial space available to Palestinians; the hermetic closure and isolation of the Gaza Strip from the rest of the OPT; the deliberate severing of East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank; and the appropriation and construction policies serving to carve up the West Bank into an intricate and well-serviced network of connected settlements for Jewish-Israelis and an archipelago of besieged and non-contiguous enclaves for Palestinians”.

The third pillar is “Israel’s invocation of ‘security’ to validate sweeping restrictions on Palestinian freedom of opinion, expression, assembly, association and movement [to] mask a true underlying intent to suppress dissent to its system of domination and thereby maintain control over Palestinians as a group.”

South African study: Israel practicing apartheid and colonialism

The Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa (HSRC) has released a report confirming that Israel is practicing both colonialism and apartheid in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

Both sides in South Africa were wrong. Sure, the apartheid regime was bad, but so was ANC terrorism. Chathamization Jul 2014 #5

The right wing Israeli government fears the Palestinian children and their mothers the most of all.

I was referring to the "Israeli government fearing Palestinian mothers and children most of all" statement. Meaningless hyperbole.

In 1973, the UN adopted the Apartheid Convention which defines apartheid and even qualifies it as a crime against humanity which might lead to international criminal prosecution of the individuals responsible for perpetrating it

along with other Palestinian groups and practiced passive resistance like M.L. King and Gandhi? Would Israel eventually bend to world opinion and voluntarily dismantle its settlements, allow Gaza access to land and sea, allow Palestinians to enter all parts of Jerusalem? What if Israel got what it wants as far as the end of violence (although marches and demonstrations would take its place)? Would Israel eventually give a little and allow a contiguous Palestinian homeland? I don't know but I'm hoping they would. Jews were important in the civil rights movement and I know there are good hearted people in Israel who might experience a change of heart towards their Arab neighbors once the rockets, mortars, and bombs stop.

Haven't you learned from what we have seen in our own country? In our Congress, for example, after Prez O bent over backwards to try to find common ground with the GOP?

RW radical zealots are the same everywhere, no matter what creed they ostensibly practice, no matter what culture or country. It's their way or the highway. Or worse.

Nice thought, but not at all realistic.

There is also extremely disproportionate weaponry involved here - and it's not Hamas with the Big Guns, furnished by us no less.
