Don't Forget POTUS and "To Kill a Mockingbird" - USA Network 8 pm EST Tonight

Just a reminder to set your DVRs if you can't watch.

I'd' like to think we've made some progress since Harper Lee wrote about Atticus and Scout and Boo, and Tom. But I don't know anymore.

President Barack Obama will briefly introduce a Saturday airing of the Gregory Peck-starring "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Obama taped about a minute of remarks to air before the first national showing of a restored version of the classic tale of Southern racial tensions in the 1930s, USA Network said Tuesday. USA is airing the movie at 8 p.m.(EST) on Saturday in partnership with the American Film Institute and Universal Picture.

The White House has not yet released his remarks, which could touch on issues of race and equality.

Harper Lee, the famously publicity-shy author of the book on which the movie is based said in a statement that she is "deeply honored that President Obama will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by introducing it to a national audience."

I know.

I looked it up when I had a lonely bachelor outside my window for hours every night last year.
