Video: Israelis in Tel Aviv chanting, Theres no school tomorrow, theres no children left in Gaza! Oleh!
in Reports, Video July 29, 2014
29th July 2014 | International Solidarity Movement | Tel Aviv, Occupied Palestine
Israelis in Tel Aviv, on 26.7.2014, the 19th day of Israels massacres in Gaza, cheer the genocide on: Theres no school tomorrow, theres no children left there [in Gaza]! Oleh!
Every evening, in Tel Aviv, right wing marchers flood the streets, waving Israeli flags and chanting hate-slogans, such as the most common, death to the Arabs and many others. Often, these are counter-protests to the anti-war demonstrations that have begun since Israels latest onslaught on the Gaza strip, but these are also independent initiatives, which aim to encourage the State of Israel to continue the bombardment with full force.
Israeli activists who oppose the war have become the victims of these rallies, as they turn into full-fledged riots. One of the activists testified that after the rally in the video, a few of them started kicking and throwing punches, someone tried to beat us with a flag stick, and one rioter in an IDF uniform pepper sprayed me in the face friends who stayed in the area told me that the cops shook the soldiers hand.
The day of this particular rally, OCHA reported: Approximately, 1000 Palestinians have been bombed to death, over 200 of them children. Over 6200 have been injured, 2000 of them children. Over 215,000 displaced people- schools have turned into refugee camps. 130 schools have been bombed.
This is Israels third such operation on the Gaza Strip in the past 6 years, which it besieges from land, air and sea. Gaza is 360 km² , about twice the size of Washington DC. It is one of the most crowded places in the world, with a population density of 4,505 persons per square km. 52% of its population are children.

Have we confirmed the contents?

(8,694 posts)The video of the 26 July event in Tel Aviv was published by Israeli journalist Haim Har-Zahav.
I looked for his original posting of the video on his twitter feed, found it, but it's in hebrew.

(1,941 posts)Thanks. Looks like it's true. I haven't seen any debunkings yet. Granted, a source like electric intifada would be as questionable as the Jerusalem post. Alex Jones will have factual material on his site from time to time but you have to verify it somewhere else before you can take it seriously.
How representative are these nutters?

(13,184 posts)Israel To Pay Students For Pro-Israeli Social Media Propaganda
The Huffington Post UK | By Lucy Sherriff

Israel has announced it will pay university students to circulate pro-Israeli information on social media networks, without having to identify themselves as working for the government.
The move was publicised in a statement from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, the Associated Press reported. Students will receive scholarships to "engage international audiences online" and combat anti-Semitism and calls to boycott Israel, it was alleged.
In 2012, a Palestinian-run blog reported similar arrangements between the National Union of Israeli Students and the Israeli government. Students would be paid $2,000 to post pro-Israel messages online for five hours a week.
According to Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, the most recent proposition is being spearheaded by Danny Seaman, who was slammed by the media for writing anti-Muslim messages on Facebook.
Students will be organised into units at each university, with a chief co-ordinator who receives a full scholarship, three desk co-ordinators for language, graphics and research who receive lesser scholarships and students termed activists who will receive a minimal scholarship, the Independent reported.

(62,325 posts)I am beginning to give the Palestinian people who have apparently been living with this vicious hatred for decades, way more credit for their restraint than I realized was needed. I would like to say that I would be as restrained as they have been, but if someone mocked the death of my child like that, there is no way I can predict my reaction. Because I've never seen anything like that before.

(25,029 posts)a driving concern but even though your calculus does not account for the multiple attacks from combined Arab forces and decades of terror attacks from kindly folks to entirely dissimilar to and including Hamas, it would seem crystal clear the only option that gives you a puncher's chance at survival would be to decimate as much opposition capacity and infrastructure as possible and build up the nuclear and ballistic missile programs, making an attack a suicide mission no matter from where it is launched.
This isn't some academic and far fetched notion, these people fought in and remember these wars and/or have folks and friends who do. Even more have first hand recollection of a not an insignificant amount of deadly terror attacks. Shit, they deal with them still.
It doesn't take a wild imagination to get the idea that the only peace will be that of death and honestly I think that is what folks that say stuff like this must want because that side of the ledger gets very little accounting from them to the point that it has to be willful, especially considering the absolute dominance over rule by very regressive and highly repressive in nations that are either currently in "sworn enemy"/do not acknowledge your right to exist and those that have joined in before and are no longer under moderate management that allowed some positive movement.
There is simply no basis for the proposition that if Israel would just play nice that it would be fine and there would be peace in the middle east (which is false, but would allow more focus on the sectarian violence).
Instead it is just an article of faith that when pressed and reminded of history in living memory, ever comes back to the existence of Israel at all. You cannot be even tolerant of Israel's existence and fail to account for proven and proudly asserted threats in good faith.
