he said he'd vote for Chris Christie in 2016 - because he is a decisive leader and Obama isn't.
I think he drank the Koolaid.
He said he might consider Hillary - but she screwed up in Benghazi.
I really don't know how to respond to people that think like this. I probably won't acknowledge his e-mail and just ignore his comments lest I get more upset.

(18,184 posts)but I can never understand why anyone would think Chris Christie or any Repub would be better.
They are obviously a major part of the problem.

(6,107 posts)regardless of the positions the person takes, is just plain dumb. One can be frustrated by some of Obama's choices and not express a desire to make a ridiculous choice.
woo me with science
(32,139 posts)That has absolutely nothing to do with the likely role of legitimate frustration here.

(32,139 posts)Read my post for context, if it helps.
People have lots of reasons to be disgusted and frustrated. Corporate money drives major policy in the Democratic Party, too.
HERVEPA
(6,107 posts)No reason to vote for any rethug candidate over an Dem.
And certainly not because someone was decisive. Hitler was decisive, Stalin was decisive.
Sorry, but it's just dumb.
What things are you friend disgusted about concerning Obama. Unless a right-winger, no chance Christie would be better on any of them.

(32,139 posts)We know that excuse by heart, even as Obama's TPP and TISA are on the horizon, our internet is being handed to corporations, drilling and fracking are being escalated, our schools are under assault, our media and online are overrun with manipulation and propaganda, and our own "Justice" Department is being used to defend mass spying and assaults on dissent and real journalism.
I would say that tired, defensive, apologistic response....the immediate leap to, 'Well, the other guys would be worse!' is a big source of the very frustration we are talking about.
HERVEPA
(6,107 posts)who would be much worse under Rethugs so one can have a temper tantrum for your ideological purity.

I just can't wait to see the status of women and minorities in this country when we are all working for Third World wages, these trade agreements have ramped up corporate power and the ability of corporations to override our laws, and dissent in the new corporate America has been crushed.

President Obama takes his time over the decisions that require time and consideration. I'll take that any day over a 'leader' who immediately jumps on the decision most likely to have the worst possible outcome...

(30,481 posts)Their thoughts on voting and Benghazi do not make them an idiot as some would suggest. Sounds like they are getting their news from a single source like du but from the other side. When one does that it leaves them with a very myopic worldview and often wrong. Try suggesting a different news source or two.
