From WSJournal: Kerry's Finest Hour
John Kerry has little to show for his diplomatic exertions across the Middle East, the Russia-Ukraine border or in East Asia. But the election compromise brokered by the Secretary of State represents a potential breakthrough for Afghanistan and an example of what effective American diplomacy in a disorderly world might look like.
The Kerry intervention came in time to head off a crisis, possibly a civil war, over last month's disputed presidential runoff. Flying in last weekend, America's chief diplomat worked out a deal with the former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah and rival Ashraf Ghani. The contenders hadn't been on speaking terms even before indications of widespread fraud emerged as polls closed June 14.

The deal offers a way out of the electoral standoff and envisions a future unity government. Setting aside competing claims of victory, the presidential candidates agreed to recount all 8.1 million ballots and invalidate fraudulent votes.
Quite interesting. Hope he will have the ability to show the same kind of leadership within Ukraine Plane case, Iran/nNuclear deals.... Good LUck!
