send a pestilence upon the people who think this way. But make sure it only affects those people, not all the innocents.

I give the message a thumbs up though.

I keep saying, all it would take for me to believe would be some serious retaliation against those who abuse the bible and the so-called Word of God.

SHOW ME you exist....thunderbolt the shit out of each and every priest that has molested a child, give billionaire psychopaths a sudden bout of conscience to ease the suffering of the poor and the hungry....let 100 people people win the $500 million lottery....make all the guilty bankers jump out of their 30 story window....there are tons of things "god" could do to make me a believer...and after 35 years of asking,,,,nothing.

Give.Me.A.Miracle. Show me you exist.

How come once we began to understand science, "miracles" stopped happening?

Sorry for the rant...very much a sore point with me!

I have to add that I spoke to my mother today, and churches are getting organized to do a lot of the heavy lifting with this crisis.

The only organizations we have in our society that are flexible enough and compassionate enough and well organized enough to deal with situations like the influx of these children are the Red Cross (very limited in fact) the churches and over the longer term organizations like the Kiwanis.

When they can't do the job, the only resource is our military. I believe that if the influx of children grows, we will have to house and school them on military bases. We are not able to deal with so many minors entering the country this way with our present, very limited social service resources.

the United Methodist Women (often more liberal than the church itself) have taken action to help already: http://www.unitedmethodistwomen.org/news/united-methodist-women-supports-humanitarian-relie

but I still send donations to United Methodist Women and UMCOR (obviously I am from a Methodist family). This is the part of organized religion I can support - coming together and finding ways to help others here on earth.

The folks who claim to believe in goodwill and then spend a good share of their time oppressing others infuriate me.
