I was in the grocery store one afternoon; and being in a hurry, I was rushing down the aisles, grabbing what I needed. I soon found that in each aisle that I went down, an elderly man was in my way. I complained under my breath about the hindrance.
After a few encounters with him, I realized he was Wendell Ford. Feeling guilty, I approached him and asked if he was the senator. He turned to me and said, "Why, yes, I am. And that's just one of the many things that I've been called by people." I forgot all about being in a hurry as I spent several minutes talking to him.

I've lost a very close family member to lung cancer and it was just horrible.
