What does the right wing think Obama going to the border will accomplish?

Seriously it's one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenarios. By going to the border, the right wing media would paint Obama as a power hungry war lord who wants to declare war on Mexico with a privately held army. By choosing to ignore this and shoot pool with the governor of Colorado, the right wing media paints him as a "slackers who's deliberately ignoring the worst domestic crisis facing our country since the Bay Of Pigs". Obama Derangement Syndrome at its finest.

Of course don't tell the media that George Bush spent two years of his eight year term in office slacking off at that ranch in Crawford, Texas pretending to be a cowboy while our country was fighting two wars and had Hurricane Katrina to deal with.

with shrubbo not bothering to go to New Orleans after Katrina preferring instead to hang out at a birthday party at his "ranch" in Midland.

To most people with a functioning cortex this is a totally idiotic comparison but you have to remember that we're talking Rick Perry and friends here.

Pres. B. Obama should not tour the TX-MEX border for the same reason. The scene cannot be controlled sufficiently well to make it safe for the President.

on the left like Raul Raez, and the other hispanic MSNBC contributor are calling for the same. It's ridiculous. Can you imagine the tv ads that would run in the fall campaign, with the President standing there? I have not heard a good sound reason for the POTUS to do this, other than "because I said so", and that's not a good reason, no matter who's pushing it.

I normally agree with MHP, but she also thinks he should have gone. Again, she didn't offer anything in the way of a sound reason for such an action.
