There Is No Democracy In Michigan

All the GOP legislators in Michigan should be arrested for treason. Upon seeing what Maddow just revealed is just like what Stalin, Hitler or Mussolini would do. I we don't crush these bastards we are in deep trouble. Michigan is what the GOP has in store for the nation. People should be more than enraged.

I didn't see Rachel tonight but I am aware of how that state's gov't has gone pure fascist! You bet that's the plan, to make every state as effed up as Michigan. Take away rights. Rip off the people. Obliterate education and social services and safety nets. No the hell NO! I'm in California and no way. It ain't gonna happen. I feel so sorry for the poor people there. It is way past time for them to get their state back.

Have you noticed how many fascist repub governors there are now in swing states? Coincidence? NOT.

2. The reason they can do this

is because people are not enraged, in fact, many of them are not even listening.. If the republicans win the house and the senate and take the White House, they will all pay attention. Unfortunately, the only way to walk it back at that point will be much harder.

I do not think that the majority of the people understand what is at stake if the republicans take power. When they finally drag themselves away from "The real housewives of wherever" or when they put down People magazine to pay attention, I hope it will not be too late.

4. We are the canary in the coal mine

Last summer I worked sooooo hard trying to collect signatures to recall Snyder, the governor. We could not get enough signatures. (We needed 806,000). Why? Because this effort was TOTAL grass roots - no media attention, no union support, no money.

Almost all of the people who saw the volunteers RAN TOWARDS US to sign the petition, happy to see us. Those that supported Snyder would drive by the volunteers, never getting out of their cars, yelling "GET A JOB" Really? Too scared to debate the issues? The facts?

Another recall effort is in the works, but....I am not optomistic. Snyder has money, the media, etc.....

I am very happy that Wisconsin got the attention it deserved. Wisconsin had union and media support. Not so in Michigan. Now that the Democratics have sued the republicans to allow them to vote before a bill is instantly made into a law, per the Michigan constitution, maybe things will change.

Please support Suzanne Shumway, she's trying to defeat one of the freshmen GOP that took over the House of Representatives in Michigan back in 2010. She is a strong candidate running against a weak Republican.
