I should have known the moment Sarah Palin turned her "attention," generously speaking, to the swelling ranks of refugees at the border that America's Dumbest Congressman would outdo whatever half-formed conspiracy theory she brought to the party.
According to actual congressthing Screwy Louie Gohmert, who is a Texas Republican because that goes without saying at this point, immigrant children are flooding across the border to secretly vote for Democrats.

(25,251 posts)they come up with all these far out ideas. That's why I kind of think that we have the problems we have in this country now because they came up with and employed some of these sinister ideas.
One thing is for certain - there's a job for them after they leave political life. They can write fictional novels.

I can recommend anyone. If you feel like taking kids to the polls, standing in line with them for hours and then lifting them up to reach the voting booth, let me know.

There are limits to Gohmert's dumbfuckery. Disappointing, isn't it?

(9,118 posts)I don't know what it is about the area around Tyler, Texas, but they've been sending the most obnoxiously reactionary and often the most blatantly racist politicians to the Texas state legislature and the US House of Representatives for over a century. I used to think it might just be the racism common to many East Texas whites, but I'm beginning to think it might be a hidden desire to outshine the less-obnoxious racists and reactionaries elsewhere in Texas and in the former Confederacy.
