Louie Gohmert Says Latinos Will Vote Republican Because They Believe In God

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Wednesday, 7/9/2014 12:30 pm

Rep. Louie Gohmert seems to be convinced that a spike in border crossings by unaccompanied minors is part of a sinister plot to push non-citizen children to commit voter fraud to help elect Democratic candidates. In an interview yesterday with News Talk Florida host Dan Maduri, after suggesting President Obama invade Mexico, Gohmert once again laid out his new conspiracy theory, suggesting that undocumented immigrants unlawfully voted for Obama in the 2012 election in return for welfare benefits. However, the Texas Republican then said that Latinos will begin voting for Republicans because the GOP is the party for those who believe in God: “Now over time I think they will eventually realize that those in favor of hard work, faith in God and belief in democracy will eventually start voting Republican, but in the meantime I’m not sure there’s a country left by the time they realize that.”

1. I wish Gohmert would soon start believing in God or at least carry his everyday life as if he does.

I would be ashamed to say the things he does, he is hateful and sure does not care about his fellow citizens. Always crying about voter fraud, he is probably guilty himself.

Believe in God, they would never ever vote Republican. Modern day conservatives are not compatible with Christianity. Hate is a deal breaker.

Modern day conservatives are very compatible with the type of "Christianity" that they practice!

Their brand of Christianity bears no resemblance to the teachings of Christ. They have hijacked the religion just as Muslim extremists have hijacked their religion.

I just feel sorry for him.
He gave up a burgeoning career of yelling at kids on his lawn to become a national buffoon. Quite sad really.

Republicans favor hard work? They favor inherited wealth, carried interest, and building wealth through outsourcing and illegal immigration.

Republicans favor democracy? I guess that's why the keep trying to come up with ways to prevent people from voting and prevent the majority from having majority representation. Republicans HATE democracy. Ask the Colorado Republicans who want to secede from Colorado because they can't win statewide elections anymore.

Republicans favor faith in God? I find it hard to believe that any Republican politician really believes in God, at least not in the Christian God. Not a one of them 'loves their enemy and prays for those who persecute you'. Has any of them ever offered someone who steals their cloak to give them their coat as well, or do would the shoot the thief dead instead? And while Jesus told people to pray like a quietly like a thief in the night, they scream it from the rooftops. Find me a real Christian, and chances are, he's a Democrat.
