I wonder just who this "Baal" is, in the first place.

Rather nebulous "god."
Washington Times Pundit Suggests Hillary Clinton Is A Baal Worshiper
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Monday, 7/7/2014 11:35 am
Over the weekend, Washington Times columnist Robert Knight criticized Hillary Clintons response to the Supreme Courts Hobby Lobby ruling by accusing her of wanting to instill in America a quasi-religious culture of death which reflects the religious sensibilities of the priests of Baal and the rulers of Sodom and Gomorrah. According to Knights unhinged column, Clinton is bent on the destruction of marriage and the family and, like President Obama, is a Marxist radical hoping to destroy America.

(14,732 posts)Is this really the best they can do? "Hillary is a Marxist radical". Shades of John Birch. The Moonie Times really is keeping pace with the geriatric base of today's Rethuglican party. Perhaps the next time they can call her a "Hussy" or a "Loose woman" or something equally contemporaneous.

To reinforce this accusation, Knight references two stories from the Bible: the story of the priests of Baal, and the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Both of those stories contain the element Knight wants to introduce here: mass slaughter and a feast for proud death.
But, oddly, the people Knight tries to associate with Clinton are the victims of that mass-slaughter.

That suggests that your idea of religious liberty only applies to whatever sect you think of as the true religion. The followers of false gods, youre saying, dont deserve this freedom. They dont have the same rights as the followers of the One True Religion. The only rights they have are the rights to be rounded up, dragged to the river, and killed.
