Drag Queen Takes on Ranting Conservatives in Seattle

Mama Tits did not want to hear right-wingers voicing their disdain at this weekend's Pride parade in Seattle.

Towering drag queen Mama Tits gave a group of conservatives a piece of her mind at Seattle Pride, at one point getting into a near-physical confrontation with one of them.

Holding signs like "Jesus Christ is Lord" and "Repent," the protesters tried to ruin the fun at the festival. But Mama Tits formed a wall with other drag queens and then told the conservatives to open their minds and drop the hate (she also told them they were sinners for wearing cotton-poly blends). "Not today Satan," Mama Queen screamed, quoting RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio.

But the majority here still rejects their stuff. The growth of wingnuts in office and other local functions makes for such a restrictive society, it's sad, as if losing a family member, when it's not just plain dangerous.

IDK any Christians who are not in favor of gay or women's rights and they get very angry at anyone who doesn't. But then I restrict personal contacts to Democrats when I can.

Loved seeing Takei and the guy with the 'Not today Satan!' That was so LOL. Still shocked to see protesters there using those megaphones...

9. Not in years. I've attended pride parades on and off for over 30 years. Just not able to go anymore.

He had awesome skills and was very funny, too:

He stole the show with a sense of childish glee. But Sulu was usually serious:

Those are wonderful gifs of a very young George Takei.

Thanks freshwest

I didn't know this~

Just wanted to share this image, because you can't not share something this awesome. In 1973, George Takei ran for the city council of Los Angeles. He lost by just 1,647 votes. This awesome campaign poster is the souvenir. If anyone out there has an original copy one of these, I want to buy it.

He is an ethical person:

In 1972, Takei was an alternate delegate from California to the Democratic National Convention. The following year he ran for City Council of Los Angeles, finishing second, losing by just 1,647 votes. During the campaign, Takei's bid for the city councilman's seat caused one local station to stop running the repeats of the original Star Trek series until after the election and KNBC-TV to substitute the premiere episode of the Star Trek animated series scheduled by the network with another in which his character did not appear, in attempts to avoid violating the FCC's equal-time rule. The other candidates in the race complained that Takei's distinctive and powerful voice alone, even without his image on television every week, created an unfair advantage.

Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley later appointed Takei to the board of directors of the Southern California Rapid Transit District, making him part of the team that initiated and planned the Los Angeles subway system. Takei was called away from the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1978 to cast the tie-breaking vote for the creation of the Los Angeles subway system. He served on the board from 1973 to 1984.

Mama Tits
Seattle’s Skyscraper Hostess, the One and Only Mama, is the creation of Brian Daniel Peters.

You may recognize her as the former Host of LeFaux at Julia’s on Broadway or as one of the hosts of the Seattle Pride Parade alongside Sylvia O'Stayformore at the 4th and Bell stage. Mama is also the Producer and Star of “Mimosas with Mama”, Seattle's #1 and Longest running weekly Drag Brunch every Sunday at the Unicorn/Narwhal, and she works various private events in and around the Seattle area and across the country.

Mama can't wait to return this year as a co-emcee of Gay Bingo, a long-standing and much-loved Seattle tradition that helps raise money to help serve people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS in our community.
