A black Republican congressional candidate in Florida said on Sunday that she found one of her campaign signs vandalized to portray her with whiteface.
Gloreatha Glo Scurry-Smith tweeted a photo of her campaign sign on Sunday showing her face carefully covered with white paint.
This is sad, but I am all for diversity, the tweet read.
Smith told the National Review for an article published on Monday that she expected some signs to be tampered with or stolen, but not to this extent."

(10,745 posts)Probably intended just to smear Democrats(Remember, Republicans DO like to portray Democrats as hypocrites, including making claims that white liberal Democrats are the *real* racists.....even though genuine modern liberalism and racism are completely mutually exclusive; though, of course, facts don't matter to Teabaggers, or the Alex Jones crowd, etc..) at that.....shame on her if that turns out to be the case.
BTW, does anyone remember the "Backwards B" claim back from 2008, when a white woman claimed that black people who supported Obama attacked her just for being a Republican(of course, we all know what really happened. She faked it all)? This could possibly be the reverse of that.....just sayin'(well, this is Florida after all. No offense meant to Floridians, though :hi .

(2,899 posts)One of their tricks to report to the police that a large number of their yard signs have been stolen from their supporter's front yards. Then they chuck a bunch of their yard signs behind their opponents campaign headquarters....and have someone else call the police and report the sighting.
