He played "TV's Frank".

He's awesome and it's fun to see him on Twitter and FB applying his dimwitted snark to Republicans.

I too spent much of my childhood overseas, and it does indeed leave some gaps in the American experience!

I absolutely see a difference between people who grew up in more than one continent and those who never left their country!

Premise was Dr. Clayton Forrester (Trace Beaulieu) and his crony, "TV's Frank" (Conniff) shot janitor Joel Hodgson into space so that they could use him as a "test case"...making him watch terrible movies and monitoring his reactions. Joel didn't want to be alone so he built his "bots" out of parts on the spaceship.

That's Frank on the left, Trace on the right.

One of the funniest TV shows of the 20th Century. The premise was to take really bad movies and riff on them. To me though, the funniest stuff they did was when they riffed on "educational" shorts:

And TV's Frank's first day:

There are over 200 episodes.

The guys have since split into to different companies, Riff Trax and Cinematic Titanic.

Many episodes are available on Netflix, and any decent sized public library probably has at least a few episodes. YouTube has tons of clips.

Definitely worth checking out, if only to see the train wreck that is "Manos: The Hands of Fate", which makes Plan 9 From Outer Space look like "Hamlet" with Patrick Stewart.

Most of them are streaming too. Well worth 90 minutes of your time, if it's your cup of tea.

Frank was trying to be funny, but it's an accurate description of Mr. Lauer.
