http://www.wisdems.org/news/press/view/2012-04--wisdems-file-complaint-with-gab-over-subs-for-votesThe Democratic Party of Wisconsin today filed a complaint with the Government Accountability Board alleging election bribery that took place at a restaurant in Waukesha where GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan were handing out sandwiches in exchange for votes in today's state primary.
Caught on tape, Romney and Ryan, who have been joined at the hip since Romney came to Wisconsin, are seen handing out the sandwiches in exchange for votes in a video here.
In the bribery video, Romney clearly exclaims, "So bring your friends to the polls, get out and vote and if you want another sandwich, there are more back there," gesturing to where he and Ryan were handing out the bribes of varying meats, dressings and bread choices the voters could choose from.
The complaint can be read here.
repubs are always all over accusing Dems for handing out cigs and free stuff. So I'm glad they complained about actual bribery.

(15,189 posts)It was just food after all. Bribing is wrong, but if they didn't tell them how to vote, or deny them if they said they were Dem's, I see nothing wrong with this. Rmoney can feed me all day, still won't change my vote. It's his loss if he buys me a sandwich.

(1,328 posts)running for Mayor up here in the north woods because she took in donuts for the poll workers. It had been a tradition so if that's the case for her then it should be the same for them.
It would take a whole lot more than a sandwich for me to even consider either one of them but then I never would.

(15,189 posts)I guess fair is fair. Sounds pretty petty to me. Donuts, sandwiches, possibly cigarettes. If people's politics can change over those things, they shouldn't be voting in the first place.
