A partially redacted police report detailing the initial investigation in the Feb. 26 shooting death of Trayvon Martin has surfaced.

Reuters reporter Matthew Keys first posted scanned copies of the report to his Twitter account. As the Chicago Tribune noted, the report contains details that conflict with several rumors surrounding the case.

The report states that George Zimmerman's gun "was placed into evidence" and not returned to him, and the scene of the shooting was secured with crime scene tape. This directly conflicts with statements made by civil rights activists, including Rev. Jesse Jackson, who had claimed the Sanford, Fla., police department "didn't even bother to put yellow tape around the murder scene when he died—that's how much the police did to find out what happened to this young boy."

No faul play at all. The owner died of natural causes. This is totally insane.

4. it would matter if he did struggle with Trayvon... he inititiated the situation

by following the kid, because of his own bigotry and inner paranoia, then murdered the kid. He was told to stay where he was and he didn't! And NO, I do not believe he was injured... this Zimmerman kid is one sick fucker!

7. I'm not sure why they would need yellow tape

They didn't need to find clues to indentify the shooter -- they have an admitted shooter. No need for shoe prints or hair samples. The only question is whether it was self defense or not. Seems like witness accounts are the only evidence needed. I heard they interviewed Zimmerman himself for five hours. I haven't heard if they interviewed the neighbors or other 911 callers.

8. I really wish these people would finish writing this story. Until the final rewrite we'll never...

know the ending. What's more; until they finally get the story the way they want it; well never know what the real message they wish to convey is.
I guess they still haven't got the story line believable enough for the lesser racists.
