Drones target people with ‘no plans to attack’ America
The U.S. is using drone strikes against people for whom there is no evidence that they had any plans to attack the United States, Robert Naiman, Illinois-based policy director of Just Foreign Policy.
It appears that the deadly U.S. drone campaign in Pakistans tribal areas and elsewhere is a kind of trade between local governments and the White House to eliminate those whom both sides consider enemy, he told Press TV U.S. Desk on Tuesday.
Naiman criticized the fatal attacks in Pakistan and other countries, noting that the U.S. Congress has never authorized such strikes.
The CIA and the U.S. military have used unmanned aerial vehicles known as drones to target and kill as they claim suspected militants in at least six countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen.
Pakistani sources say the U.S. drone strikes kill some 50 civilians for every militant killed - a hit rate of 2 percent.
