(11,238 posts)Did they change it? Besides, that's what the plastic surgeon is offering: free nose jobs to Orthodox Jewsthrough their matchmakers.
The doctor himself is an Orthodox Jew, and refers to himself as the Nose King of Miami.
Why do you think this is bad on CNN's part?

(50,254 posts)And the doctor is essentially advocating that single Orthodox Jewish people mutilate their faces in a desperate attempt to fit in with Gentile standards of beauty. He's the self-loathing equivalent of the people in the black community that sell "fade cream" and that at one point applied heavy pressure on their fellow blacks to straighten their hair by rubbing caustic chemicals into their scalps.
It's all an encouragement of the acceptance of the idea that what people of one's own ethnicity look like is unacceptable. No one should ever give that message to anybody.

(50,254 posts)He's trying to get Jewish people to mutilate their faces in the name of appealing to a bogus goyische standard of beauty. It's like the days when black people were made to feel obligated to rub lye into their scalps in order to straighten their hair.
You'd have thought the success of Barbra Streisand both as a singer, actress, and 1960's model of beauty would have put this kind of thinking to rest.
