Here is one thing which bewilders me ... 11 year old considered an adult ... women, apparently never
A few years ago, 11 year old Jordan Brown shot and killed his potential stepmother in her sleep.
All things aside, there was a LOT of debate ... there were a lot of people who were wondering if they should try the 11 year old as an ADULT. (Eventually, he was tried, and convicted, as a juvenile.)
Now ... think about it.
You're a 17 year old girl, just discovered you're pregnant, employed at a minimum-wage job (at best) where you have been doing some stuff that, 20 years ago, would have been done by what was considered an "adult".
If you want to have an abortion ... you're considered (by many who would want to make the laws apply to everyone) A CHILD.
In fact, if you're 22 ... 30 ... 35 ... and female, you're still not considered able to make the decision about your own body without BIG GOVERNMENTAL INTERVENTION.
"Law-and-order" types were considering an eleven year old an ADULT, while a woman of any age apparently has to have permission to control her own life.
