Pres. Obama: Republican Budget is 'Trojan Horse' and 'Thinly Veiled Social Darwinism'

from TPM: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/04/obama-ryan-budget-is-thinly-veiled-social-darwinism.php

IN a Tuesday speech hosted by the Associated Press in Washington, D.C., President Obama will deliver a broadside to the House-passed Republican budget . . .

“This congressional Republican budget is something different altogether. It’s a Trojan Horse,” Obama plans to say, according to excerpts provided by the White House.

“Disguised as deficit-reduction plan, it’s really an attempt to impose a radical vision on our country. It’s nothing but thinly veiled Social Darwinism. It’s antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and upward mobility for everyone who’s willing to work for it — a place where prosperity doesn’t trickle down from the top, but grows outward from the heart of the middle class. And by gutting the very things we need to grow an economy that’s built to last — education and training; research and development — it’s a prescription for decline.”

"Whoever he may be, the next president will inherit an economy that is recovering, but not yet recovered, from the worst economic calamity since the Great Depression. Too many Americans will still be looking for a job that pays enough to cover their bills or their mortgage. Too many of our citizens will still lack the sort of financial security that started slipping away years before the recession hit. And a debt that has grown over the last decade, primarily as a result of two wars, two massive tax cuts and an unprecedented financial crisis, will have to be paid down."

"In this country, broad-based prosperity has never trickled down from the success of a wealthy few. It has always come from the success of a strong and growing middle class. That’s how a generation who went to college on the GI Bill, including my grandfather, helped build the most prosperous economy the world has ever known . . ."

The Senate Democrats are correct in having no budget at all. There is no budget that can account for the income vs. the expenses. Presenting a budget is a futile exercise in wishful thinking.

It is clearly Social Darwinism, but most of the public has been dumbed down and don't know the term. Obama speaks to those who are educated but is accused of being an elitist for not talking down to people at the level FNN does.

These things should be discussed on media, but they are owned by Ayn Rand believers who are the epitome of her belief system, so talk of uplifting the poor or equality for all is forbidden.

It's time to get those theories in the face of Calvinists who vote regularly to support these GOP policies. Photographs of pregnant immigrants, babies, the poor, elderly and disabled should be trotted out and labeled 'parasites,' to see if Americans truly believe this about each other and themselves.

Then label videos of champagne sipping psychopaths as 'job creators' and 'producers.' The right would call it 'class envy' and 'class warfare,' but it's always been that, but only their version has been allowed.

It's about time the DNC started using symbols, since it appears the level of education is that low. Let people decide what their vision of America is. The GOP has used them repeatedly:

I miss the old 'liberal' media which wasn't owned by a few wealthy conservatives, whose anchormen and reporters were proud supporters of worker rights, equality and the environment. We had a better country with breathing room, more freedom and liberty by us all pulling together.

Obama has an almost insurmountable task ahead of him, trying to get past a generation of Rush infecting 'young skulls full of mush' as he calls young people, with every venal and depraved ideology since the Civil War or the Nazis. It really is that sick now.

I grew up in an America that was looking forward, despite heartbreaking setbacks, up into the sky and most of us wanted to see the spirits of our fellows and nature soar. We've been invaded in our minds, hearts, and now more and more, even our bodies. These are powerful enemies to the advancement of mankind, as they seek to reduce our lives to profitable component parts, for their own interests, and never being forced to answer the question 'Why?'

nearly half the country takes Romney and Ryan seriously is the root of the problem.

Ryan should be laughed out of town.
