Is Rick Santorum trying to wound Romney enough so he won't win the general?

The kind of stuff he is doing to Romney is beyond anything I have ever seen a Republican do to another Republican. I really think he is only staying in to bolster his run in 2016 which can't happen if Romney wins. If so this is........AWESOME!

*That's in reference to Frothy Santorum's slip of the tongue in Janesville a couple days ago.

It just seems like he is trying to take Romney down in the General because he can't possibly think he can win the nomination this time around. Just a gut feeling though.
