Maybe your wife had thoughts of when such a relationship would result in criminal action along with many other awful sufferage.

In over half the country a LGBT couple still cannot legally marry in their state. I've been with my wife for almost 25 years now and we still can't marry right here at home. So yes, this is a big deal and for some of us not something that happens every day... or any day.
