We need each other.

Let me repeat.........We all need each other.

There is a divide I don't understand. And, not just one. I'm tired of seeing them from progressive, liberal and democratic people. I can't wrap my head around it, and don't want to.

We are all one group. Humans. We need each other to make it through our short time on earth. We need each other to make the lives of those yet to come better than ours are.

I understand we sometimes get angry, frustrated, sad, bewildered, and confused. But, without each other we cannot stand up to the Republican Party. We cannot let them win the elections this year or the Presidential election in 2016.

We need old minority men.
We need old minority women.
We need young minority men.
We need young minority women.
We need old, white men.
We need old, white women.
We need young, white men.
We need young, white women.
We need each other.......
...and everyone in between.

Now, I am going outside to enjoy this beautiful Sunday by the pool with three ethnicities, and ranging in age from 71 to 4, and drink adult cokes (beer) and celebrate life, love, and happiness. We may even talk about how far we have all come, and what it is going to take to keep moving forward.

I hope everyone here has a wonderful day!

EDITED TO ADD: Now I'm embarrassed. I forgot to add that one of the couples are two beautiful, wonderful fathers of a 5 year old adorable, little boy.

..unfortunately, there are many issues of social, economic, and political inequality that do not affect everyone equally, by any means.

Acknowledging this fact is not divisive. Being offended is one thing, but actually experiencing discrimination and oppression is another thing entirely. No comparison.

No waiting around for some politician that doesn't care anything about us to do something. Uniting to bargain for better pay and healthier working conditions is the only way to better quality of life for the working class.

United we stand

Precisely why the far right is working so hard to divide this country. With so many of the 1% behind them, a divided country is much easier for them to control. The one thing they fear is a large majority of the people united against them. Healthy debate is one thing; letting them divide us - just means we're doing their work for them.

it's so much it being a 1% vs. 99% thing. There are plenty of so-called 1%-ers in general who support the progressive agenda, while there are so-called 99%-ers who have voted and railed against it at every turn. What we seem to be dealing with are progressives vs. regressives (those of us who want to move forward versus those who want to return to policies from yesteryear).
I've been curious myself about how many infiltrators this site has, ever since I found that thread here about DailyPaul posters plotting to wreak havoc on DU.

a social democracy with a well regulated capitalist economic system should work. yes. We must continue to work, educate and inform. We must Get Out The Vote.
